Products > World War II > Army Air Corp > Service Pilot
Established on September 4, 1942 for civilian pilots who became miltary pilots based on their civilian experience and could only fly outside the theaters of operation. Extremely rare was the Senior Service pilot rating with a star on the wing. They had to have 1500 military flying hours and five years experience. Since these pilots started in 1942 and the war ended in 1945, almost no one had the five years experience.
