In World War II the Glider Pilot Wing was awarded to pilots who had 3 hours Glider time, landed 10 times and passing a flight test. This was after extensive flight training. The wing was established on Sept 4,1942. This is a very well made sterling silver museum quality reproduction of these 2 inch wings with pin back for wearing on the shirt uniform.
